SPORT in RUGBY CV22
Sport In RUGBY is a dedicated portal to the clubs and teams in and around Rugby in Warwickshire.
The Town of Rugby and its district has a population of approximately 100,000 and some of the teams do not have a website or are still growing.
We aim to support and develop sport as a whole in the area and make it easier for people starting to take an interest in sport and those moving to the area easy access to sport and all those involved.
Rugby is the home to Rugby Football and our local team the Rugby Lions is one of only 2 teams allowed to wear white ,which is the England team colours.
We have excellent access to the local motorways and a main line station to London so our population is growing fast.
We have a large assortment of types of sports in the area and new ones are developing all the time.
Keeping fit and having fun are the bywords of sport in Rugby.
Cricket for women is starting to grow fast with the first of the competitions taking place now, however they are not being televised or reported in main stream media which is a great pity. How is it to grow otherwise?. £3million has been allocated for the next 4 years (including this year ).
Perhaps it is time to add another media channel to take up the baton for developing sport in the U.K.
